Wakanda Alliance: Fall to Greatness!

Wakanda Alliance returns for the new school year! Join us for new comics and conversations with your favorite reading and activity program!

T’Challa may not be the king of Wakanda, but he is still the Black Panther! He has his eyes on a mysterious thief named Beisa, whose motives appear to be more than what meets the eye!

See more on the story below!

https://youtu.be/FG_5bH5zfQA?si=9OzG2YTD4Kh_GKMZ

After reading Black Panther #2, the Tribe notices the dialogue between Panther and Beisa show that they are up keeping secrets and facades, adding a layer of mental battle too. The conversation reminds us of espionage, and made us think about the historical figures who were masters of espionage. Harriet Tubman, Wilbur Greene are just two figures. Also Nakia from Black Panther films was also a spy - what type of skills did they have to employ to get their job done? Let’s talk about it this Saturday!

A New Juneteenth | Wakanda Alliance Program

Juneteenth Edition!

Wakanda stands tall as the only African nation untouched by colonialism in Marvel Comics. How powerful is that? Our theme today is imagining the possibilities when the shackles of fear and hate against Black & African peoples don’t exist?

Imagine if Black North Americans were truly free after slavery was abolished — no segregation, no Jim Crow laws, or sundown towns. Imagine Juneteenth as the celebration of THAT freedom!

That will be our activity Saturday, June 10th!

We are joined by an amazing organizer named Stephen Roberson! For decades he has been organizing against oppression in various cities across the nation. He will share his experiences and knowledge for the organizers of today and tomorrow!

Re:Presenting Afrofuturism

Galactic Youth Panel!

2/25 - 1pm

Our annual Afrofuturist panel returns! In the past years, we have highlighted the voices of prolific Black artists, activists, and all-around creatives. These amazing people have brought incredible conversations on the Black experience, as it is and how it could be! This year, we want to bring the voices of our youth to the forefront! The panel will lead conversation on the topics that matter most to them when it comes to seeing a Black future. After all, it is they who will inherit this world next!

We are encouraging those who work closely with youth or make the decisions that impact them the most to attend this event. This includes school staff, government officials, and youth group leaders. Stay tuned for the announcement of which youth have been selected!

We start our new season off by recalling what Afrofuturism means to us! What do you think of? Who do you think of?

Our activity will be group creative imagery! We will be using an A.I. device to imagine our own Black futures!

Our following event will be Feb 25th, which will be a youth panel! Subscribe to our newsletter at thegalactictribe.org to stay up to date!
